Here is a shot of a van going through a partially flooded road. This was at the junction of Blakelock Gardens and Redcar Close in the Burn Valley area. This was after a torrential thunderstorm that hit Hartlepool at about 5pm on Sunday afternoon. The downpour which was so heavy and in such a short period of time, meant that the amount of water that had fell in such a short period meant that many drains weren't able to cope with the amount of water involved in one go. But most of the flooded drains emptied as soon as the rain had stopped. Allowing the excess water to drain away quickly. 5th July 2009.
